
Bexley Council has published public notices detailing a planning application within the Old Bexley (1971) Conservation Area and upcoming temporary restrictions on vehicular traffic in Sidcup for essential water mains replacement works.
The council has received a planning application for a property at 67A Bexley High Street. The proposal seeks to change the use of the premises from professional services (Class E(c)(ii)) to a residential dwelling (Class C3).
Additionally, the plans include the erection of a first-floor extension and alterations to the fenestration. Members of the public can view the application and submit observations via the Council’s Planning Application Information Online system.
Representations must be made within 21 days of the notice date, quoting reference 26/00651/FUL. Written responses should be sent to Development Management, Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, Kent, DA6 7AT. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1995, all responses will be made available for public inspection.
An order has been made to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in various roads adjoining Willersley Avenue, Sidcup, to facilitate water mains replacement works by MGroup Ltd on behalf of Thames Water. The restrictions, which will be in effect from 20 April 2026 for a maximum of 18 months, are expected to be completed within 261 days.
The order includes a prohibition of traffic for 50 meters into and including the junction with Willersley Avenue. Additionally, waiting and loading will be prohibited for 50 meters on both sides of the road at and including the junction with Willersley Avenue. Specific roads affected by these restrictions include Marlborough Park Avenue, Haddon Grove, Oaklands Avenue, White Oak Gardens, Annandale Road, Maple Leaf Drive, and Willersley Avenue itself.
Further restrictions on Willersley Avenue, Sidcup, will prohibit traffic from the junction with Halfway Street to the junction with The Oval. Waiting and loading will be prohibited on both sides of the entire road. Alternative routes will be provided during the works, including diversions via Halfway Street, Days Lane, Blackfen Road, Wellington Avenue, and The Oval.
