The data has been provided in advance of the ward panel meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 22nd April, at the Marketing Suite, 25 Robsart Street, SW9 0FA. Metropolitan Police officers have carried out proactive Jubilee Country Park patrols and monitored Thornet Wood Road following resident requests. The 62-acre Local Nature Reserve in Petts Wood has been the subject of increased attention as part of the Bromley borough’s commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour. Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhoods Team confirmed they are prioritising these open spaces to provide reassurance to the community.
The patrols were specifically organised after residents in the Bromley borough asked for increased police attention to the park and its main access points. Jubilee Country Park, which is a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation, is a popular destination for walkers and families, but its extensive woodland and ancient grassland can sometimes attract unwanted activity.
Officers stated that they routinely check this area as part of their shift patterns and were able to provide a visible presence today. During the morning checks, the team reported that no suspicious activities were observed. This proactive approach follows a broader initiative by Bromley police to monitor "hotspot" drug and anti-social behaviour locations across the borough's parks, including Whitehall Recreation Ground and Scadbury Park.
Jubilee Country Park is managed by Bromley Council alongside its partners and dedicated "Friends" groups. While the park is a Local Nature Reserve with high biodiversity value, authorities have noted that open spaces can present complex safety challenges. Bromley Council currently operates a monthly "problem-solving group" that includes police and Public Protection members to coordinate responses to persistent issues.
Chief Superintendent Rachel Stockdale, Head of Local Policing for the area, has previously encouraged residents to report concerns directly to ensure accurate patrol strategies. Police have confirmed that "Intel building" and high-visibility bicycle patrols will continue in various open spaces to deter crime. Residents with information regarding anti-social behaviour are advised to contact the police via 101 or report through the Met Engage portal.

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Croydon are renewing their appeal for information as they continue to pursue justice for his family two years after his death.
Rijkaard Siafa, 23, died in Fellmongers Yard, Croydon, on Friday, 12 April 2024 after police were called to reports of a stabbing. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Despite their efforts, as well as members of the public attempting to provide first aid, Rijkaard died at the scene 30 minutes later. While officers have already secured two convictions for Rijkaard’s murder, Jordan Vincent, 29, believed to be from south London, remains at large and is still being sought by police in connection with the case. Detectives are appealing for any information that could reveal his whereabouts or lead to his arrest and conviction.
Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend, who is leading the investigation, said: “Two years on from this horrific murder, our thoughts remain with Rijkaard’s family and friends. Rijkaard lost his life at a young age due to the actions of David Walcott and Rammon Mali, two dangerous and unpredictable individuals who have now been put behind bars. We are grateful to those who have come forward so far to help us with our investigation.
"It is clear from those enquiries that the defendants acted as a team to find and viciously attack Rijkaard. We are renewing our appeal to the public for their help in finding the outstanding suspect, Vincent, wanted for Rijkaard’s murder.
"Any information could help us trace his whereabouts. My team will continue to work tirelessly to bring all those responsible to justice. We are determined to do so and appeal for those who could help to come forward.”
Hassanatu Bah, Rijkaard’s mother, said: “Rijkaard was deeply loved and is missed every day. Even after two years, the pain has not changed. We are grateful for the police support throughout. We are asking anyone with information to please come forward. No family should have to go through this. We just want answers and justice for Rijkaard.”
On Thursday, 17 April 2025 at the Old Bailey, David Walcott, then aged 35 (18.08.89), of Turle Road, Norbury, and Rammon Mali, then aged 33 (08.12.91), of Valley Road, Croydon, were each jailed for 27 years for Rijkaard’s murder.
Following a five-week trial, they were convicted at the same court on Wednesday, 26 February 2025. The pair claimed they were present during incident but did not murder Siafa. However, they were unanimously found guilty of murder by the jury.
Anyone who has information or footage can call the police incident room on 0208 721 4961 referencing Op Biscot. To remain 100 per cent anonymous, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit Crimestoppers-uk.org.

A Tajikistan national who subjected a 13-year-old girl to an “abhorrent” sexual assault on a train has been found guilty of six charges.
The verdict follows an investigation led by British Transport Police (BTP) detectives from its Major, Serious and Organised Crime (MSOC) team. Abdulmanon Aliev, aged 50, originally from Tajikistan but now living on Rye Lane, South London, appeared at Inner London Crown Court for a week-long trial.
On 9 April, the jury found him guilty of two counts of Assault by Penetration, three counts of Sexual Assault and Attempted Rape. He will be sentenced at the same court on 17 June.
Jurors heard that on the afternoon of 16 June 2025, the young girl was travelling on a Southend to London train. During the journey she was approached by Aliev who sat opposite her and attempted to use a translator app on his phone to speak to her.
She then moved away from him to sit elsewhere, but he followed and sat next to her in an aisle seat, blocking her in by the window. Aliev then forced himself upon the victim and subjected her to a prolonged sexual assault until the service arrived at London Fenchurch Street station where she was able get away from him and alight the train.
The victim boarded another train heading back out of London, leaving Aliev behind at the station. She bravely reported what she endured to members of the public who encountered her in a distressed state, and the police were informed shortly after.
BTP detectives launched an urgent investigation to identify Aliev, trawling hours of CCTV footage to track his movements before and after the attack. The manhunt ended on 27 June when plain clothes officers spotted him in Peckham, South London, and he was immediately arrested.
His home address was searched, and officers located and seized the clothes he was wearing during on the day of the attack. A comprehensive file of evidence was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and charges were authorised the following day. Specialist officers have been supporting the victim and her family throughout the investigation.
BTP Detective Constable Elizabeth Cahill said: “Aliev singled out a vulnerable child and subjected her to one of the most abhorrent sexual assaults I’ve ever investigated. While the focus of attention will rightly be on him as the despicable sexual predator that he is, I want to pay tribute to the brave victim who reported him to police.
"This verdict would not have been possible without her account of what happened and her willingness to support our investigation. We take every sexual offence report extremely seriously, and we’ll stop at nothing to put offenders like Aliev before the courts.”

A woman has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter following the death of a man from Brixton during a baptism ceremony in Birmingham.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) West Midlands has announced that Cheryl Bartley, 48, has been charged with one count of gross negligence manslaughter. The charge relates to her role as a pastor during a baptism ceremony.
The victim, 61-year-old Robert Smith, who was from Brixton in south London, died from drowning at an address in Slade Road, Erdington, on 8 October 2023.
Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division, stated: “We have decided to prosecute Cheryl Bartley, 48, with one count of gross negligence manslaughter in relation to her role as a pastor during a baptism. This follows the death of 61-year-old Robert Smith from Brixton in south London, who died from drowning at an address in Slade Road, Erdington on 8 October 2023. Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it is in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings. We have worked closely with West Midlands Police as it has carried out its investigation. We remind all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are active and that she has the right to a fair trial. It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
Cheryl Bartley is from Erdington in Birmingham. She will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 14 May.
Gross negligence manslaughter involves a death as a result of a grossly negligent (though otherwise lawful) act or omission on behalf of a defendant.
A man who assaulted and threatened to kill a staff member at a South London chicken shop on Christmas Eve has been sentenced to three years in prison.
On 24 December 2025, Marwan Khadir, 18, of Penge, carried out an armed attack which lasted over two minutes using a realistic imitation firearm. He threatened to shoot and kill the victim and assaulted him multiple times after complaining about his order. Tuesday’s sentencing comes as the Met continues to crack down on the use and illicit sale of both real and imitation firearms, building on progress made last year which saw 676 guns taken off London’s streets.
The victim reported the assault on Christmas Day. The fast-paced investigation that followed saw officers identify Khadir through intensive CCTV and financial tracking, as well as local resident checks which all took place between Christmas and New Years’ Day. Officers also conducted large-scale phone work in order to identify Khadir’s address and worked in tandem with firearms command to obtain warrants for his arrest on 2 January. Following the arrest, officers seized the replica gun Khadir used in the attack, as well as fake ammunition.
The high-quality CCTV which captured the offence, coupled with the weapon and matching clothing seized by officers contributed to the creation of an incredibly strong evidence package.
Detective Sergeant Amy Cross, who led the investigation, said: “The tireless work by officers on this case over the Christmas and New Year period is further evidence that policing never stops, and their efforts ultimately led to a conviction.“All our thoughts continue to remain with the victim of this terrifying ordeal, something no one should ever have to go through, let alone at their place of work. The strength he has shown since the attack has been remarkable. "On top of this, the courage he demonstrated in coming forward and reporting the assault was incredibly brave. He was then able to subsequently identify the perpetrator, a crucial moment in allowing us to move the investigation forward.”
On 30 January, Khadir pleaded guilty at Woolwich Crown Court to possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, making threats to kill and assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm (ABH).
Metropolitan Police officers have conducted a successful operation targeting personal theft in the Bermondsey Street/Tooley Street area, following concerns raised by the public.
On 2 April, officers from the ward collaborated with the Territorial Support Group to execute a bag theft operation. The initiative focused on identified hotspot locations with the aim of deterring opportunistic thefts and providing public reassurance.
The operation yielded positive results, including one arrest for failing to appear. Additionally, six stop and searches were conducted, and one community resolution was issued for cannabis possession. Authorities reported a significant decrease in reported crime during the period of the operation, attributed to the increased police presence.
Officers also engaged with local businesses and members of the public as part of ongoing crime prevention and reassurance efforts.
The Metropolitan Police are currently developing their "New Met for London: Phase 2" strategy, which will shape policing across the capital for the next three years. They are seeking public input to guide this new strategy.
