Brixton North Ward Crime Statistics last three months

Metropolitan Police have released crime statistics for the Brixton North ward covering the period of January to March 2026. The data has been provided in advance of the ward panel meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 22nd April, at the Marketing Suite, 25 Robsart Street, SW9 0FA. The release aims to allow residents time to review the figures before the meeting.

Burglary Figures

During the first three months of 2026, business burglaries in Brixton North saw an increase of 3 incidents, totalling 9, compared to the previous period. Residential burglaries remained the same at 13 incidents. Trends identified within burglary include 2 instances of parcel theft from communal areas and 6 instances of garages being broken into. Two bicycles were also reported stolen.

Theft and Vehicle Theft

In the theft and vehicle theft category for January to March 2026, bicycle theft decreased by 8 incidents, with 5 reported. Theft of and from motor vehicles increased by 2, reaching 7 incidents. Shoplifting also saw an increase of 2, totalling 16. Theft from a person experienced a significant rise of 12 incidents, bringing the total to 36. Identified trends include 7 vehicles stolen and 16 snatch thefts. Pickpocketing incidents numbered 14.

Drug Trafficking and Possession

Statistics for drug trafficking and possession from January to March 2026 show Class B Cannabis at 8 incidents, remaining the same. Class B Cannabis PWITS (Possession with intent to supply) decreased by 1 to 0 incidents. Class A drug incidents were 7, down by 1 from 8. Class A PWITS also decreased by 1 to 0 incidents. Class C PWITS Nos Gas remained at 2 incidents. Importing Drugs saw a decrease of 3, with 2 incidents reported. The police note that these statistics do not reflect drug use or taking, with possession figures derived from stop and search findings, and trafficking from importing and county lines activity.

Violence Against Women and Girls

A total of 43 incidents were recorded under violence against women and girls for January to March 2026, a decrease of 11 from the previous period's 54 incidents. The Metropolitan Police clarified that this category encompasses all incidents where a female is classified as a victim of crime, not exclusively violent acts against women.

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Statistics

In terms of ASB statistics for the last three months, ASB Personal incidents remained at 3. ASB Nuisance decreased by 3 to 42 incidents, down from 45. ASB Environmental incidents increased by 2, totalling 3 from 1. The most common forms of ASB reported were neighbour disputes, fireworks, drug users, and youths congregating.
