Guy's and St Thomas' LSBU partnership aims to shape the future NHS workforce.

Guy's and St Thomas' and LSBU deepen workforce collaboration

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with London South Bank University (LSBU). This agreement strengthens a long-standing partnership focused on supporting the health and care workforce.

The MoU was signed by Amanda Pritchard, Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’, and Paul Kett, LSBU Group CEO and Vice-Chancellor. It aims to deepen collaboration across education, workforce development, research, and innovation.

Addressing workforce challenges and new care models

The partnership will help address workforce challenges and support new models of care. Working with LSBU, the Trust will shape education and training reflecting modern healthcare needs. This includes digital innovation, community-based care, and multidisciplinary working.

The agreement supports expanded opportunities for placements and apprenticeships. It also covers continuing professional development and new learning approaches like simulation and experiential training.

Amanda Pritchard stated: “This next stage of our partnership presents us with a fantastic opportunity to provide the next generation of NHS staff with the skills they need to deliver new and innovative models of care and to shape the health service of the future.”

Paul Kett commented: “As anchor institutions in south London, we share a responsibility to support inclusive growth, workforce resilience and better outcomes for our communities.”
