Officers from the Lee Green Safer Neighbourhood Team, working alongside colleagues from the Volume Crime Team, built a robust case against the individual. The suspect was arrested earlier this year.

The case culminated in the suspect being remanded in custody. At court, officers successfully secured a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

This order includes stringent conditions designed to prevent further offending. It aims to protect local businesses and the wider community from persistent theft.

Bromley High Streets Face Shoplifting Surge

Bromley has experienced a notable increase in shoplifting. Data from Police.uk for the period ending March 2024 shows a 10% rise in reported shoplifting incidents across the borough compared to the previous quarter. This highlights the ongoing challenge faced by local retailers.

The Metropolitan Police stated: "We know the impact that repeat shoplifting has on local shops, staff, and residents. We remain committed to tackling this type of behaviour and will continue to work with local businesses and partners to address concerns and keep our community safe."

For those affected by shoplifting or who wish to report suspicious activity, Crimestoppers offers an anonymous way to provide information. You can contact them on 0800 555 111 or visit their website at crimestoppers-uk.org.
