Metropolitan Police officers have successfully recovered a large machete during a targeted sweep across London Bridge and West Bermondsey, reminding the public of the critical importance of reporting any discovered weapons.

The recovery forms part of ongoing proactive sweeps across Southwark's high-footfall tourist and transport hubs, designed to remove dangerous bladed articles from public circulation and prevent weapon-enabled violence.

The Metropolitan Police's local Safer Neighbourhood Team announced the recovery following proactive patrols across the London Bridge and West Bermondsey beat.
