Woolwich Teen Murder: Second Boy Charged

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder in connection with the death of 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor in Woolwich. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charge on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

An investigation was launched on Thursday, April 2, 2026, after officers were called to Lord Warwick Street following reports of a shooting. Eghosa was found with serious injuries and sadly died at the scene. His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, and subsequently charged with murder. He is due to appear before Barkingside Youth Court on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

This is the second charge in connection with the incident. A 16-year-old boy from Romford was also charged with murder on Friday, April 10, 2026. He appeared at Thames Magistrates Court on Saturday, April 11, 2026, where he was remanded in custody.

Other arrests have been made as part of the ongoing investigation. On Saturday, April 4, 2026, officers arrested a 19-year-old man in Woolwich on suspicion of murder. A 46-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both have been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Two boys, aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man, were arrested on Friday, April 3, 2026, in connection with Eghosa’s death. They have also been bailed, pending further enquiries. The investigation remains ongoing.
