Brixton Town Centre drug operation: Three arrested

A proactive police operation has seen three males arrested in Brixton Town Centre as part of a crackdown on Class A drug supply. The Metropolitan Police deployed both plain clothes and uniformed officers to disrupt criminal activity and reassure the local community.

Brixton Town Centre Drug Supply Disrupted

Officers from the Town Centre & Tasking Team, working with local neighbourhood officers from Brixton, carried out the operation today. The aim was to tackle those involved in drug dealing and to reassure residents and visitors.

As a result of the activity, two adults and one child were arrested. The child is now receiving support from specialist child exploitation officers. This highlights the vulnerability of young people to exploitation by organised crime groups.

Lambeth Safety and Crime Statistics

In the year ending March 2023, Lambeth, the borough containing Brixton, recorded 30,580 recorded crimes. Of these, 4,780 were drug offences, and 3,097 were violence and sexual offences. The Metropolitan Police are committed to reducing these figures.
